On Tuesday 3 February 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two drivers had their licences confiscated overnight following drink-driving offences in Dippach and Sanem.

Firstly, on the evening of Monday 2 February, the police were alerted to a vehicle that had crashed into a wall on Route de Luxembourg in Dippach. A police patrol was able to locate the driver at the scene shortly afterwards. A breathalyser test returned a positive result and the driver’s licence was confiscated. As the driver had sustained minor injuries in the accident, he was taken to hospital for a medical examination. An accident report was drawn up.

Then, during the early hours of Wednesday 3 February, a police patrol in Sanem noticed a vehicle travelling at excessive speed. The vehicle was immediately stopped and the driver was subjected to a check. As he showed clear signs of alcohol consumption, a breathalyser test was undertaken which returned a positive result. Officers confiscated the driver’s licence.
