The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on the morning of Wednesday 4 February 2026, a person was seriously injured following a traffic accident on the A13 near Bettembourg
According to the initial information, at approximately 07:15 on Wednesday the police were notified of a multi-vehicle traffic accident on the A13 near Bettembourg, where a driver travelling in the direction of Schengen had lost control of his vehicle. According to the police, the vehicle collided with the crash barriers and eventually came to a stop in the middle of the carriageway.
Due to reduced visibility, another vehicle subsequently collided with the damaged vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle was seriously injured and taken to hospital for medical treatment. As a result of the accident, several further collisions occurred, although these only resulted in material damage.
The road was closed for the duration of the rescue operations.
