The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents that occurred on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 February 2026, including thefts, burglaries and traffic offences.

On Tuesday afternoon, police were informed of a theft on Boulevard Prince Henri in Luxembourg City. According to initial information, a woman had her shopping bag stolen by an unidentified suspect who fled the scene on an electric scooter. Despite an immediate search, the suspect was not located and an investigation has been launched.

Later that afternoon, another theft was reported near Stäreplaz in Luxembourg City after a person was approached by two men. According to initial information, one of the men suddenly pushed the victim from behind. Shortly afterwards, the victim noticed that his necklace was missing. A search operation was carried out but was unsuccessful. Investigations are ongoing.

On Tuesday afternoon, unknown perpetrators gained access to an apartment in a multi-family building on Rue du Commerce in Dudelange and stole cash and jewellery.

Another burglary was reported on Tuesday evening at an apartment in a multi-family building on Rue du Nord in Bettembourg. According to initial information, unknown individuals entered the premises and searched several cupboards.

Investigations are ongoing in both cases. Preventive advice on protecting against burglaries is available on the Grand Ducal Police website.

Police also recorded a number of traffic offences. On Tuesday evening in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie, officers stopped a motorcyclist who had been travelling at excessive speed along Route de Thionville. Checks revealed that the vehicle’s technical inspection had expired and that the driver did not hold a valid licence for the motorcycle. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the motorcycle was impounded and a report was drawn up.

In the early hours of Wednesday, at around 00:50, a patrol conducting a traffic check on Route de Longwy in Rodange noticed a vehicle travelling at high speed and attempting to evade control. Following a short pursuit, the vehicle was stopped. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and tested positive. A provisional driving ban was issued.

In a separate incident early on Wednesday morning in Luxembourg-Verlorenkost, officers observed a vehicle running a red light at the junction of Avenue Charles de Gaulle and Rue du Laboratoire, as well as at the junction with Boulevard d’Avranches. The driver tested positive for alcohol and his driving licence was confiscated.
