On Wednesday 11 March 2026, Luxembourg’s Directorate for Consumer Protection reported that Luxembourg’s Minister of Consumer Protection, Martine Hansen, had signed the annual agreement between the Directorate for Consumer Protection (DCP) and the Luxembourg Consumer Union (ULC).

The Directorate said that through this agreement, the government reaffirmed its commitment to financially support the association in its work on behalf of consumers in Luxembourg.

It added: “By renewing this cooperation, the DCP also emphasises the essential role of the ULC as a key counterpart in the field of consumer protection. Thanks to its close contact with the public, the association plays a crucial role in listening to consumers’ concerns and contributes valuable information from the field. This feedback helps to guide and improve public policies in line with the real needs of consumers and developments in the market.”

On the occasion of the signing, Minister Hansen remarked: “Consumer protection relies on strong cooperation between public institutions and frontline actors. The ULC plays an indispensable role in helping consumers to assert their rights and to receive support in their procedures. The government will continue to support these essential missions.”
