On Wednesday 11 March 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of a suspect in Luxembourg in connection with an attempted manslaughter that occurred in Belgium last week.
The incident took place on Friday 6 March 2026 in Athus, where the suspect reportedly seriously injured the victim with a knife. Belgian authorities subsequently issued a European arrest warrant.
The Luxembourg police's "Recherche Fugitifs" (FAST Luxembourg) unit managed to identify and apprehend the suspect in Altwies on the morning of Tuesday 10 March 2026. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
