The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents and arrests carried out on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 March 2026, relating to drug offences, disorderly conduct and property damage.
According to initial information, late on Monday evening, during a patrol in Rue Joseph Junck in the Luxembourg-Gare district, officers noticed a man who attempted to leave the area quickly upon seeing the police vehicle. Suspecting possible drug-related activity, officers carried out a check and observed suspicious swallowing movements. A subsequent scanner examination returned a positive result. On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Tuesday morning.
In a separate incident on Monday afternoon, police were called to Ettelbruck railway station following reports of a man shouting on a bus and urinating inside the vehicle. The individual was located by officers and, due to his high level of intoxication, was placed in custody for sobering up following a medical examination.
During the night of Tuesday, a police patrol discovered that the side mirrors of several police vehicles in Rue Marie et Pierre Curie in Luxembourg City had been damaged. A suspect found nearby and attempting to leave the scene was stopped after a short pursuit. It was established that the individual had earlier been at a police station for driving under the influence of alcohol and was suspected of damaging the vehicles after leaving the premises. Due to his condition and the risk he posed, he was placed in custody for sobering up. A report was filed.
Earlier that same night, at around 01:45 in Avenue de la Liberté in Niederkorn, police responded to reports of a man behaving inappropriately inside a residential building. According to initial information, thehe individual had previously been asked to leave by officers but had returned. When escorted out again, he provoked police and continued to behave disruptively. Due to his intoxicated state and disturbance of public order, he was placed in custody for sobering up. A report for insulting an officer was filed.
