The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a man was injured outside a venue in Luxembourg City late on Friday 20 March 2026, with a suspect later arrested in connection with the incident.
According to the police, shortly before midnight they were alerted to an injured man on Rue de Strasbourg. When officers arrived, the victim had already received initial first aid from a third party. Police continued to treat the man, who had a heavily bleeding wound near his ear, before he was taken to hospital. His life is not in danger.
Police launched a search for the suspect, which initially proved unsuccessful. However, as the investigation progressed, a suspect was identified and presented himself voluntarily to the police the following day.
According to initial information, the incident was preceded by a prolonged verbal altercation between the two men, during which death threats were also made. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Sunday 22 March 2026. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
