On Friday 27 March 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a passenger in a vehicle involved in a road accident near Troisvierges on Thursday 26 March has died.
According to the initial information, at around 13:00 on Thursday, the police were notified of a road traffic accident on the N12 in the direction of Troisvierges, where a vehicle had left the roadway, entered a roadside ditch and subsequently collided with a tree.
The police have confirmed that despite assistance from the emergency services, the front-seat passenger succumbed to her injuries. The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
The public prosecutor instructed the forensic investigation unit of the criminal police to determine the cause of the accident and ordered a post-mortem examination. Investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
The road was closed for the duration of the rescue and recovery operations.
