Late on Thursday 2 April 2026, the Grand Ducal Police warned that one or more suspected robbers were on the run in the Niederkorn area.
Following a robbery in Niederkorn (municipality of Differdange), the police said they were searching the surrounding area for one or more suspects.
Anyone who sees suspicious persons is asked to immediately call the emergency number 113.
The police also warned the public not to pick up hitchhikers.
UPDATE: The Grand Ducal Police later provided additional details about an armed robbery in Niederkorn. On Thursday evening, at approximately 21:00, police received a report of an attempted robbery on Rue St Pierre in Niederkorn. According to initial reports, two perpetrators rang the doorbell of a detached house, threatened the victims when they opened the door, and a physical altercation ensued. The two perpetrators then fled. Both victims were taken to hospital for observation. A large-scale search involving several police units proved unsuccessful. Further investigations have been initiated.
