On Tuesday 30 June 2026, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health and Social Security announced the end of the Level 3 extreme heat alert (the Red Alert) following an improvement in weather conditions.

As a result, the dedicated monitoring visits and hydration assistance programme for people aged 75 and over has also come to an end.

The authorities thanked all the partners involved during the recent heatwave, including the Luxembourg Red Cross, COPAS, home care and assistance networks, hospitals, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) and healthcare professionals for their commitment and cooperation.

Although temperatures are expected to return gradually to more moderate levels, the ministry urged the public to remain vigilant, noting that the heat could still affect the most vulnerable people. They advised residents to continue following preventive measures, including staying well hydrated, avoiding physical exertion during the hottest hours of the day and regularly checking on elderly, isolated and vulnerable people.
