The Grand Ducal Police have reported the arrest of a suspect following a theft from a vehicle in Luxembourg City on Thursday 16 July 2026.
According to the police, officers received a report in the morning of a theft from a vehicle parked on Rue Joseph Heintz. Initial findings indicate that the suspect forced entry into the vehicle, searched the interior and stole a wallet and house keys.
During the subsequent search operation, police located a man who was identified as the suspected perpetrator. A bank card belonging to the victim was also found nearby.
The suspect was taken to a police station. Police noted that he was already known to them in connection with several previous property and violent offences.
Acting on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office, he was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Friday 17 July 2026.
