The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they are searching for a vehicle which they believe was involved in an ATM explosion in Vianden, on the morning of Tuesday 28 July 2026.

According to the police, the vehicle is a white Mercedes convertible with a black soft top bearing the registration YQ8591. The police have stated that the licence plate is reported as stolen.

Anyone with information that could be related to this vehicle is asked to contact the police emergency number 113 immediately.

According to the initial information, at approximately 04:25, police received a report of an ATM explosion on Rue de la Frontière in Vianden.

Several police units, including forensic investigators, are currently at the scene. No one was injured in the incident.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the road has been closed and a diversion has been put in place.
