On Sunday 16 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of two suspects following the theft of a mobile phone at Luxembourg's main railway station.
At around midday on Friday 14 August 2026, police received a report of a mobile phone theft. According to initial information, two people bumped into the victim as the latter was boarding a tram and then stole the victim's mobile phone.
A witness reportedly saw the incident and helped detain the two suspects until police arrived. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, police arrested both suspects and brought them before an investigating judge on the morning of Saturday 15 August 2026. The mobile phone found in their possession was returned to the victim.
In a separate incident on Saturday morning, police received a report of a burglary at a single-family home on Rue des Trois Cantons in Bettingen. The perpetrators had initially fled the scene, prompting police to launch a search.
Officers subsequently located two suspects, who underwent identification procedures. Police launched further investigations into the incident.
