On Tuesday 8 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported a shoplifting incident in Luxembourg-Gare and a burglary in Gonderange.
At around 12:15 on Monday 7 September 2026, police received a report of shoplifting at a store on Rue du Fort Neipperg in Luxembourg-Gare. According to initial information, two men had placed various goods in their jacket pockets before attempting to leave the store.
The two suspects were detained at the scene and the goods were returned to the store. During a search, officers also found a fabric bag containing 334 cannabis seeds on one of the suspects. Police seized the seeds on the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office and filed a report.
Later that day, at around 18:45, police received a report of a burglary at a house on Rue du Village in Gonderange. Several witnesses had reportedly spotted two suspicious individuals in front gardens before seeing them enter a property.
As police arrived, officers encountered two individuals coming from the garden of the affected house. Upon noticing the police patrol, the pair reportedly fled, climbed over a fence and escaped via the nearby N11.
Police immediately launched a search involving several patrols but were unable to locate the suspects. Inside the house, officers found that several drawers and chests of drawers had been searched.
Police filed a report and launched further investigations into the burglary.
