The Grand Ducal Police have reported a violent robbery in which a man was injured in Luxembourg-Belair on Tuesday 8 September 2026.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 21:10 on a footpath between Route d'Arlon and Rue Aloyse Kayser. Initial information suggests that the victim was attacked by two persons, who dragged him into an adjacent green area and assaulted him.

During the robbery, the perpetrators stole personal documents from the man's backpack and took his wristwatch, as well as damaging his mobile phone. The victim also sustained a minor injury to his thigh from a sharp object. The two suspects subsequently fled in the direction of Luxembourg-Merl.

Police immediately launched a large-scale search involving several units and a helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspects. During the search, officers found and seized a knife, torn documents belonging to the victim and other potential evidence in a nearby green area.

The victim received first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
