On Sunday 4 January 2026, Luxembourg national team athlete Vera Bertemes-Hoffmann set a new national record in the women’s 10km road race at the Prom’Classic event, held along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France.

She completed the race in 33:37, improving her previous national record of 33:46, which she set in 2024. The record is subject to ratification by the Luxembourg Athletics Federation (FLA).

The national record set in Nice followed a series of record-breaking performances by Vera Bertemes-Hoffmann during the summer of 2025. In August, at the Luxembourg National Championships, she broke the national women’s 5000m record, clocking 15:29.06 to surpass the previous benchmark of 15:42.38, which had stood since 1986.

During the same period, Bertemes-Hoffmann also set further national records on the track. She ran 8:48.84 in the 3000m at an international meeting in Marseille (France), improving her previous best of 9:12.27, before setting a new national mark of 4:05.58 in the 1500m at the Czesław Cybulski Memorial in Poznań, where she finished fourth and shaved 0.34 seconds off her previous record.
