Sparta Bertrange, currently second in the league standings, returned to winning ways after last week’s defeat to T71 Dudelange. Playing at home, Mike Feyder’s team defeated Musel Pikes 94-55. Reflecting on the performance, Mike Feyder told Chronicle.lu: “The game from last week was really a bad game from us and they had everything to lose. So we learned from it. We worked on some things this week and I think today we did a pretty good job. We had to have players on the court, so we rotated a lot of players. We achieved a really good result today.”
Nicole Torresani led the scoring with 31 points, with the eighteen-year-old Italian finishing as the game’s top scorer. Coach Feyder noted that she has already demonstrated her scoring potential several times tis season, adding: “If she's confident, makes her free throws and attacks the basket, she’s unstoppable with her moves. In transition and on fast breaks, she's really strong.” Asked whether winning the Lalux Ladies Cup had boosted Sparta’s confidence in the title race, he said: “Of course. We are looking to win the championship. That’s the next goal. It’s not going to be easy, we know that, but that’s what we want to achieve and we want to be ready when the time comes.” Sparta Bertrange now hold an 11-4 record, while Musel Pikes remain second from bottom at 3-12.
