On Friday 5 September 2025, the Luxembourg Red Cross launched a new “Ambassador” programme to provide the public with digital tools and resources to raise awareness of blood donation.
The programme allows people to download a range of resources, including posters, social media posts, email templates and invites programme participants (whether a blood donor or not) to raise awareness among friends, family and colleagues about the importance of blood donation.
The humanitarian organisation emphasised that donating blood is essential, as it cannot be manufactured. Without the commitment of altruistic donors, sick and injured people could not be treated but to ensure blood stocks remain at a sufficient level and to promote this vital act, every share and post counts.
Whether participants want to promote blood donation on social media, motivate those around or inspire colleagues, the Red Cross is providing tools and support to do so.
