Local non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss has reported that on Thursday 11 September 2025, its long-standing partner Kolping Luxembourg asbl renewed its support of the organisation with a donation of €5,000.
The cheque presentation took place at the Centre Prince Henri in Walferdange and was received by Philippe Frisch, instructor and educator at Stëmm’s Schoenfels site in Mersch. The contribution forms part of a wider fundraising effort, with Kolping Luxembourg asbl donating a total of €50,000 to eight associations across the country.
According to Stëmm, the €5,000 donation will help strengthen the reintegration workshop “Schweesdrëps” (drop of sweat) in Sanem, through the purchase of uniform management software, a professional washing machine and a water softener.
The total budget for the project amounts to €70,000 and to date €58,000 has already been raised. This leaves €12,000 still to be secured in order to reach their target and implement all the tools needed to enhance the quality of the workshop.
The therapeutic workshop “Schweesdrëps” provides laundry services for around 40 sports clubs, covering more than 300 teams. Each week, an average of 5,000 uniforms are collected, washed and returned in time for matches. The initiative allows participants to engage in structured work requiring discipline, organisation and the ability to adapt to the pace of the sports calendar.
In 2024, a total of 97 tonnes of laundry was processed over the year, representing an increase of 4.30% compared with the previous year.
