On Thursday 12 February 2026, the Luxembourgish supermarket chain Cactus announced that it had collected 19,858 cork stoppers in support of Amicale vun der Schoul fir Assistenzhonn asbl (ASA) during its “Festival des Grands Vins de France”.

This festival took place from 12 to 25 October 2025 across Cactus stores nationwide.

The initiative helped raise funds for ASA, which trains assistance dogs to support people with disabilities and individuals with specific daily needs.

Cactus organised tasting stands at several locations, including Belle Etoile Shopping Center, where visitors also took part in the cork collection. Thousands of bottles opened during the festival contributed to the total amount collected, while customers added corks from home to strengthen the impact of the campaign.

With participant support, Cactus gathered 19,858 cork stoppers, which, after recycling, will generate financial support for ASA’s missions.

Cactus noted that the assistance dogs trained by ASA play a fundamental role in improving the autonomy, safety and quality of life of their beneficiaries.

According to Cactus, this initiative fully reflects the retailer’s values, which places social engagement and corporate responsibility at the center of its actions. Through its charity projects, the retail aims to support local and national associations throughout the year.
