On Tuesday 13 October 2026, Luxembourg non-profit organisation SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde (SOSVEM) announced it had received a donation of €2,000 from BorgWarner Luxembourg.

SOSVEM said that between April and October 2025, employees of BorgWarner Luxembourg took part in an internal sporting and charity challenge called “BorgWarner Moves”. Using a dedicated app, they recorded the kilometres they covered through various activities, including running, swimming and many other sports.

Motivated by the opportunity to stay active while supporting an important cause, BorgWarner Luxembourg employees took on the challenge and their collective efforts raised €2,000 for SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.

At a cheque presentation ceremony held in September, Anne Schweizer, Partnerships Manager at SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, thanked all the participants: “We sincerely thank the employees of BorgWarner Luxembourg for their enthusiasm and commitment. Their efforts show that every action can make a difference in a child’s life. We are delighted that this donation will help support children and families in vulnerable situations as they work towards building a better future.”

SOSVEM said the donation will support an SOS Children’s Villages project in Cali, Colombia, benefiting migrant children and their families. Through this two-year programme, more than 100 parents and guardians will receive support aimed at strengthening their independence and their ability to provide children with a stable and nurturing environment.

SOS Children’s Villages has been present in Colombia for more than five decades. The local organisation supports children, young people and families through programmes focused on child protection, family strengthening, education and social inclusion. Since the Venezuelan crisis began in 2014, the organisation has stepped up its efforts to support migrant families, helping them integrate into their host communities, access their rights and obtain essential services.

This donation forms part of BorgWarner Luxembourg’s long-standing commitment to supporting children and young people throughout their personal development. Since the partnership began in 2024, BorgWarner Luxembourg has donated a total of €12,046.86 to projects supported by SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.

Previous contributions helped fund the construction of a school in Morocco’s Marrakech-Safi region, which was struck by a powerful earthquake in 2023. The current support aims to help Venezuelan migrant families successfully integrate into their new communities in Colombia.
