On Thursday 29 January 2026, Youth4Planet Luxembourg asbl announced the official release of the music video “Si gefaangen” (I am Trapped) on the occasion of Environmental Education Day 2026.
According to the association, the initiative was launched by the Upper Sûre and Our Nature Parks and funded by Luxembourg’s Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning. The video addresses the impact of digitalisation on social interaction in a thoughtful and accessible way, reflecting young people’s perspectives on the subject.
The initiative was carried out by young people from the Jugendtreff Ëlwen during a workshop organised in October 2025. The song and video were produced during a rap and film workshop held at the Jugendtreff Norden in Troisvierges, under the guidance of Jan Holler, with participants aged between twelve and 25 working together over three afternoons after school, training or work.
In terms of content, the workshop began with an input from the nature parks on the topic of sustainable digitalisation. During the subsequent discussion, the young participants critically reflected on the negative effects of increasing digital use on the social climate. The aim was to identify ways of raising awareness of this issue among their peers in an effective, creative and age-appropriate manner.
As explained by the organisers, the participants opted for an artistic approach: one group focused on writing a song, while others developed a storyline and a dance choreography. A particular challenge was that songwriting, recording and filming had to take place in parallel. Based on the storytelling principle “and – but – therefore”, the key elements of the song were first defined, providing a common framework for the film, dance and rap groups to work simultaneously.
The association added that within just twelve hours, a cohesive music video was created from numerous individual contributions, enabling all participants to showcase their talents both in front of and behind the camera, in the studio and during the conceptual development.
