
The University of Luxembourg (Uni.lu) has announced the 11th Fintech Conference, to take place on Wednesday 8 October 2025, from 09:00 until 17:30, at Banque internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) in Luxembourg-Hollerich.
Uni.lu described this free hybrid event, held in English, as an opportunity to explore current developments in financial technologies, with keynote speeches and four sessions on topics including digital treasury instruments, financial technology regulation, payments and crypto, EU financial law and the MiCA framework. Speakers and discussants will include academics and practitioners from Luxembourg and abroad, with contributions from the Ministry of Finance, University College London, UNSW Sydney, Université Paris Cité and others.
The programme will open with a keynote by Professor Bob Kieffer (Ministry of Finance and University of Luxembourg) on digital treasury instruments, followed by sessions chaired by Uni.lu professors Mark Cole and Dirk Zetzsche, among others. International experts such as Professor Christos Gortsos (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), Professor Ross Buckley (UNSW Sydney), Professor Nizan Geslevich Packin (City University of New York) and Professor Caroline Kleiner (Université Paris Cité) will join the discussions.
An afternoon keynote will be delivered by Lawrence Trautman (University of Texas) on US crypto regulation. The conference will continue with a session on MiCA in motion, featuring contributions from academics and practitioners including Marc Mouton (Arend & Medernach) and Professor Dirk Zetzsche (University of Luxembourg).
The event will conclude with a closing keynote by Professor Geoffrey Goodell (University College London) on digital asset infrastructure.
