On Thursday 8 January 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture launched a call for applications to fill two vacant positions on the jury of the 2027 “Lëtzebuerger Bünepräisser” (Luxembourg Stage Awards, dedicated to promoting the performing arts in Luxembourg.
Ahead of the ceremony scheduled for December 2027, the ministry stated that one of the two positions is preferably intended for a performing arts enthusiast under the age of 30, in order to represent young audiences.
The Luxembourg federation of performing arts, the Theater Federatioun, will provide jury members with a card granting free access to all eligible performances during the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 seasons.
Applicants should: be passionate about: the performing arts, including theatre, dance and musical theatre; demonstrate an interest in supporting the Luxembourg performing arts scene; be keen to discuss performing arts productions; and have a good command of the three national languages as well as English.
Jury members are expected to: attend as many eligible performances as possible, during the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 seasons; familiarise themselves with theatrical texts by Luxembourg authors (Luxembourg nationality, living in Luxembourg, or having a strong connection with the Luxembourg theatre scene); exchange views within the jury and work collectively to draw up a shortlist based on nominations and then select the award winners; take part in the award ceremony in December 2027.
Applications must be submitted by Sunday 25 January 2026 by email to the Ministry of Culture at janina.stroetgen@mc.etat.lu and should include a completed application form. The selection of the two public representatives will be carried out by the jury members appointed by ministerial decree of 18 December 2025. All applicants will be informed of the decision.
