On Tuesday 16 June 2026, Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture announced that it held an official ceremony at Mudam Luxembourg, the Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (Mudam) in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, where it presented honorary distinctions to members of Luxembourg's cultural sector as part of the National Day celebrations.

During the ceremony, Luxembourg’s Minister for Culture Eric Thill presented the awards to 43 recipients, including 35 people appointed to the Order of the Oak Crown and eight people appointed to the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

In his speech, Minister Thill highlighted the important role the recipients play through their daily commitment to culture. He said: "By honouring these individuals today, we celebrate not only their remarkable achievements but also the essential contribution of the cultural sector to our society. The recipients embody an open, vibrant and outward looking culture. Through their dedication, they enable creativity to flourish, bring audiences together and allow culture to fulfil its role as a vehicle for dialogue, sharing and social cohesion. Their work helps to build a Luxembourg where everyone can find their place in cultural life."
