Fondation Privée MeRL has announced an exhibition titled "The Space Between Threads", which will take place from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 November 2026 at MALT – Innovative Factory in Luxembourg-Clausen, as part of Luxembourg Art Week.

Organised in collaboration with the Cercle des collectionneurs du Mudam Luxembourg, the exhibition will bring together more than 40 works from private collections in Luxembourg, some of which have never previously been exhibited publicly. The project marks the second collaboration between the two organisations, following "Timeless Voices" in 2025.

Curated by Claire di Felice, the exhibition explores the theme of the thread as material, line, structure and language. It will feature paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, textiles and texts, including works by Etel Adnan, Pierre Alechinsky, Bram Bogart, Daniel Buren and Christo.

According to Fondation Privée MeRL, the exhibition follows a conceptual rather than chronological approach, with five stages exploring the line as a means of constructing space, movement, material transformation, textiles and memory, and writing.

Claire di Felice explained: "The progression of the exhibition is not chronological, but conceptual. By drawing on different artistic approaches, we examine how a simple line can gradually become structure, network, material and then language. This line guides the visitor from a physical and sensory experience of the works towards a more abstract reading of the logics they set in motion."

The exhibition's spatial design has been developed by Fabeck Architectes, which also converted the former industrial building housing MALT – Innovative Factory.

On Saturday 21 November 2026 at 11:00, the exhibition will also host an Art Talk titled "The Threads Between Collections", focusing on collecting practices and the relationship between private and public collections. Registration is available via press@oxygen.lu.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10:00 to 18:00, with guided tours available after 17:00 on weekdays or upon request at weekends via contact@merlfp.com. Admission is free.
