The Naturpark Öewersauer (Upper Sûre Nature Park) has announced the first edition of its “Water Days” event series, featuring a diverse programme dedicated to the theme of water and highlighting its importance as a vital resource and connecting element across the region, taking place from Tuesday 12 to Monday 18 May 2026.
According to the organisers, the programme will include training sessions for teachers, specially designed excursions for school classes, a guided hike, a concert combined with a photo exhibition, a conference and various other water-related activities.
One of the highlights will be the guided walk “Following the Traces of Water”, taking place in Wiltz on Wednesday 13 May 2026 at 15:00. Accompanied by Jean Weber, the walk will explore the historical role of water in shaping the town’s landscape, infrastructure and daily life, while temporary artistic installations by artist Mila will highlight both visible and now-hidden water sites, including former streams, ponds and wells.
On Thursday 14 May 2026 from 15:30, the Dreamland Creative Space in Wiltz will host the “Waterdays Experience”, combining a photo exhibition by photographer Caroline Martin with electronic music performances by Timelord and Morfaz, offering an artistic interpretation of the theme of water. Entry is free.
The programme will continue on Sunday 17 May 2026 with a Water Festival at Toodlermillen from 11:00 to 17:00, featuring activities for all ages centred around water. Visitors will be able to attend the “Take Off” Science Challenge Show, guided visits of the SIDEN pumping station, a meditation session and presentations on reservoir management, while children will have the opportunity to build small rafts and take part in a mini raft race on the Sûre River. Entry is free.
The event series will conclude with a Water Conference at SEBES in Eschdorf on Monday 18 May 2026 from 09:45 to 14:30. Held under the theme “Water Protection: Our Shared Responsibility”, the conference will bring together representatives from municipalities, ministries, specialist institutions, the agricultural sector and the wider public to discuss current challenges, possible solutions and cooperation on water protection.
