On Sunday 5 July 2026, Chronicle.lu visited the Agricultural Fair in Ettelbruck on the third and final day of its 43rd edition, which attracted a total of 50,404 visitors over three days.
The Grand Duchy's largest agricultural fair once again transformed the Däich exhibition grounds into a meeting place for farmers, producers, businesses and families, showcasing the diversity of Luxembourg's agricultural sector.
Spread across indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, the fair featured everything from tractors, combine harvesters and forestry equipment to livestock competitions, local food producers and family activities. Large exhibition spaces from companies such as Cactus, Luxlait, Naturata, Landtrac, CLAAS, Fendt, Komatsu and CNFPC stood alongside dozens of smaller local businesses, cooperatives and agricultural organisations, highlighting both traditional farming and the latest developments in the sector.
One of the busiest areas was the Cactus pavilion, where visitors could sample and purchase products carrying the "Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer" label, alongside other locally produced food. Nearby, the producers' market showcased regional specialities including cheeses, meat products, honey, wines, beers and other Luxembourg-made delicacies, while Luxlait and Naturata also attracted steady crowds throughout the afternoon.
Outside, visitors wandered between rows of modern agricultural machinery, with tractors, harvesters, excavators and forestry equipment drawing particular interest. Demonstrations, mini tractor-pulling, horse competitions, cattle shows and educational presentations took place throughout the day, while children enjoyed interactive activities ranging from meeting farm animals to climbing aboard agricultural vehicles. The event retained its traditional family atmosphere, with barbecue areas, food stalls, cafés and live music ensuring there was plenty to enjoy beyond the agricultural exhibitions.
The 2026 edition also highlighted several milestones, including the 30th anniversary of the Rëndfleesch vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer quality label and the fifteenth anniversary of fairmëllech, while organisers placed particular emphasis on strengthening the connection between consumers and local producers under this year's theme of reconnecting people with Luxembourg's agricultural sector. According to the organisers, almost 380 exhibitors and partners participated across approximately 340 stands, with the fair set to return from 2 to 4 July 2027.
