On Tuesday 12 August 2025, Luxembourg telecommunications company Eltrona announced the appointment of Mouncef Mahlaoui as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Eltrona said in a statement that "this strategic addition reinforces [its] ambition to consolidate its role as Luxembourg's leading alternative in the telecommunications market".

With more than 20 years of experience in technology, project management and digital transformation, Mouncef Mahlaoui has held leadership positions at organisations such as Dimension Data, Degroof Petercam Bank and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE).

Eltrona said this appointment "underlines its commitment to growth and innovation". Mouncef Mahlaoui will oversee all technology-related activities within the group, from network infrastructure to IT systems and digital transformation projects.

According to the telecommunications company, Mouncef Mahlaoui's arrival comes at a time of "strategic acceleration" for Eltrona, which has been "investing in both talent and technology to strengthen its position as a key player in Luxembourg's connectivity landscape".

Eltrona CEO Bart D'Olieslager commented: "I am delighted to welcome Mouncef to the Eltrona family as its new CTO. His expertise, leadership and ability to bring teams together are invaluable assets to drive the next phase of our technology transformation. Mouncef will make sure Eltrona can maintain and strengthen its position as the only alternative very high-speed broadband access provider in Luxembourg."

The new CTO stated: "Joining Eltrona is a unique opportunity to apply my experience to a meaningful and forward-looking project. I fully share the group's vision and values - focused on innovation, customer proximity and local engagement. Joining Eltrona and the Eltrona Technology team to build together a future as the alternative Luxembourgish Telecom operator is a unique opportunity to put at work my experiences acquired throughout my earlier career."

In a telecommunications sector undergoing "constant change", Eltrona said it continues to grow through "targeted investments" in both infrastructure and human capital. As part of the Telenet Group, the company has recently achieved several milestones, including the opening of new customer spaces, the launch of the GiGA offering and "a notable increase" in its subscriber base.

With Mouncef Mahlaoui now leading its technology strategy, Eltrona said it is "poised to further strengthen its capacity for innovation, anticipate future user needs and deliver reliable, high-performance connectivity nationwide."
