On Wednesday 17 December 2025, during its General Partners’ meeting, Deloitte Luxembourg announced the election of Joachim Heukmes as its next Managing Partner.

Joachim Heukmes will succeed John Psaila, who has served as Managing Partner since June 2018 and will complete his second consecutive mandate at the end of May 2026, assuming office on 1 June 2026 after a structured transition period.

According to Deloitte, John Psaila began his professional career at Deloitte in 1995. After gaining experience at two other Deloitte member firms, he joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2001, became a Partner in the audit practice in 2008 and was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2015. During his tenure as Managing Partner, the firm inaugurated its new headquarters in 2019, strengthened its integration within Deloitte’s European network, navigated the pandemic period and established the Deloitte Foundation.

“I have observed Joachim grow within the firm from his earliest days, and I am honoured to work alongside him over the coming months as we ensure a smooth transition and I pass on the figurative baton,” said John Psaila. “Our history in Luxembourg is one of stewardship. Each generation carries the firm forward with the same sense of responsibility, adapting to new circumstances while remaining true to its foundations. I warmly congratulate Joachim on his election and wish him every success as he prepares to assume this responsibility,” he continued.

Joachim Heukmes, member of the Deloitte Luxembourg Executive Committee, currently serves as lead partner of the Strategy, Risk, Regulatory and Transactions Advisory practice, as well as Deputy Leader of Advisory and Consulting. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2004 and has spent the past 20 years building and leading a specialised team. Under his leadership, the practice has delivered innovative solutions to several challenges across financial services, real estate and family offices.

“I am honoured by the trust placed in me by the partnership,” commented Joachim Heukmes. “I look forward to working closely with John over the coming months to ensure continuity and stability. Deloitte Luxembourg has a strong heritage and a clear responsibility to its clients, its people, and the wider community, and I am committed to serving that responsibility with determination and care,” he said.
