Sarina Grosz, Chief AI Officer of YOUNEA;

On Friday 16 January 2026, YOUNEA Sàrl, a Luxembourg-based technology company, announced the appointment of its founder, Sarina Grosz, as Chief AI Officer (CAIO).

The company said the appointment introduces a new executive role at management level and reflects its decision to embed responsibility for artificial intelligence at the highest level of leadership. YOUNEA described the move as positioning the company among the first in Europe to establish a dedicated CAIO role, as regulatory and ethical governance of AI continues to gain importance.

Active in AI-driven telephony since 2023, YOUNEA has deployed fully AI-powered telephone assistants for customer communication. With the creation of the CAIO role, the company said it aims to formalise strategic oversight of AI-related activities, including governance, risk management and regulatory compliance, particularly in the context of the upcoming EU AI Act.

The responsibilities of the Chief AI Officer include oversight of AI strategy across the company, implementation of European regulatory frameworks, management of risks related to sensitive data and support for organisational adaptation to AI technologies.

Commenting on her appointment, Sarina Grosz said: “We are experiencing a historic turning point: artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work and live – but it requires clear values and principles. As CAIO, my goal is to ensure that innovation at YOUNEA always serves people.”

The company also linked the appointment to Luxembourg’s role in technology-driven innovation, stating that it aims to demonstrate how AI deployment can be combined with ethical considerations and regulatory compliance.

“Luxembourg has the opportunity to become Europe’s centre for responsible artificial intelligence. We want to lead by example – technologically as well as ethically,” Sarina Grosz added.

The appointment comes as companies across Europe prepare for new obligations under the EU AI Act, which will require clearer governance structures, transparency and oversight in the use of artificial intelligence.

YOUNEA noted that Sarina Grosz is an entrepreneur and AI specialist who founded the company with a focus on developing human-centred AI solutions, particularly in the field of voice-based assistant systems.
