On Monday 19 October 2026, the non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which works to promote the social and professional integration of disadvantaged people in Luxembourg, reported that it is marking its 30th anniversary with a mural created in collaboration with Luxembourgish artist Raphael Gindt and the organisation's beneficiaries.
The artwork, intended as a symbol of solidarity and inclusion, was developed and created jointly with the participants. Once completed, it was installed on the walls of the organisation's social restaurant in Hollerich, where it represents three decades of commitment, listening and support.
According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, on 21 May 2026, the skatepark in Hollerich was transformed into a place of exchange under the guidance of Raphael Gindt, known for his urban portraits. Over several hours, the artist introduced the organisation's beneficiaries to graffiti, allowing each participant to contribute their own ideas to the mural. The six participants were Fred, Hamza, Chris, Hatip, Clarisse and Mohammed.
The organisation noted that the project demonstrates how art can contribute to social inclusion by allowing people to express their ideas regardless of their background, level of education, language skills or social circumstances. Active participation can also strengthen the self-confidence of people whose opinions often receive little attention, while providing opportunities to learn new skills and develop creativity.
Stanley Beier, an educator and the initiator of the project, said: "Such participatory activities offer our beneficiaries a wonderful opportunity to become actively involved beyond the everyday support services we provide. For many, the premises of Stëmm have become a place where they feel safe and at home, spending time there every day. Against this background, it only seems natural to involve our beneficiaries in shaping our facilities."
Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, added: "This is the first of a total of five special cultural projects that we have initiated since the beginning of this year as part of Stëmm vun der Strooss's 30th anniversary celebrations. Through these projects, we aim to strengthen solidarity with our beneficiaries."
