On Wednesday 28 October 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that officers had placed five individuals in temporary custody following several incidents that took place the previous evening.
At approximately 20:45, police received a report of a dispute in an apartment building on Rue Alexis Heck in Diekirch. According to initial information, a man had threatened people inside an apartment before shouting in the building's corridor. He subsequently threw a glass bottle at another resident.
After arriving, officers escorted the man out of the building but he became increasingly uncooperative outside and attempted to strike them with a bag he was carrying.
Shortly afterwards, at approximately 21:00, police responded to another incident involving a physical altercation on Rue Fort Wedell in Luxembourg-Gare. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man aggressively confronting a woman seated in a car. The man was visibly intoxicated and became increasingly uncooperative, repeatedly acting aggressively towards the officers.
Later that evening, at approximately 23:50, police received a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance at an establishment on Rue de Bonnevoie also in Luxembourg-Gare. According to initial reports, the person was carrying a knife.
Officers located the man and confiscated the knife during a search. As he became increasingly uncooperative, officers restrained him. Further investigations revealed that he had repeatedly insulted and threatened other customers.
During a subsequent routine medical examination, the man became increasingly abusive towards police officers and emergency personnel, repeatedly threatening them.
In all cases, police placed the individuals in temporary custody following medical examinations and filed the relevant reports.
