Grand Ducal Police has announced that it would increase its presence across Luxembourg during Halloween night, from Saturday 31 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, to ensure public safety during the celebrations.

As Halloween becomes increasingly popular in Luxembourg, the police have urged residents to show mutual respect towards both those taking part in the festivities and those who do not celebrate.

The police also issued safety recommendations for people attending parties and events attracting large crowds, warning that such gatherings can attract pickpockets and other individuals with criminal intentions.

The police warned that events attracting large crowds may also attract individuals with criminal intentions and issued the following safety recommendations:

  • keep bags and personal belongings close and never leave them unattended;

  • remain vigilant in crowds and queues;

  • keep wallets in inside jacket pockets to reduce the risk of theft;

  • beware of strangers deliberately bumping into or dancing close to you, as these may be distraction theft tactics;

  • keep drinks within sight to prevent drink spiking;

  • avoid driving after consuming alcohol;

  • adapt driving speed and watch out for pedestrians, particularly children.

Anyone requiring urgent police assistance should call the emergency number 113.
