On the morning of Saturday 7 November 2026, the City of Luxembourg’s Parks Department team erected this season’s Christmas tree on Place d’Armes, in front of the Cercle Cité in Luxembourg-Ville.

As part of Winterlights 2026, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) said the installation is part of its plan to create a festive and welcoming atmosphere in this iconic location in the city centre.

The Parks Department team were on site in the city centre to commence the installation of the tree at approximately 06:00, with the installation completed in just over an hour.

The fifteen-metre tree originates from the vicinity of Bonn, Germany and is one of sixteen fir trees which will be installed around the city by the VdL.

Decorations will be added in the coming days.

Speaking to Chronicle.lu, Alan Massin of Gérant MS Green Services, a landscaping and green space management company in Luxembourg and Belgium who assisted in the sourcing and installation of the tree, said: “We are a supplier for the city of Luxembourg for large trees, such as this one. It is fifteen metres high and more or less 30 years old. It will remain in place until Epiphany (Wednesday 6 January 2027).”
