Number of reported cases of RSV, COVID-19 and flu during week 45 of 2025;

On Thursday 13 November 2025, the Health Directorate of Luxembourg's Ministry of Health and Social Security published its weekly overview on the development of major acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, influenza (flu) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), for the week of Monday 3 to Sunday 9 November 2025 (week 45).
Decrease in COVID-19 / SARS-CoV-2 cases
During week 45, the number of positive COVID-19 cases decreased from 97 to 64 cases, a 29% drop compared to the previous week. The viral concentration detected in wastewater also declined. The latest available sequencing data reveal that the XFG variant (56.0%) and its subvariant XFG.3 (29.8%) remained predominant.
Slight increase in flu cases, with numbers remaining low
The number of flu cases reported by laboratories rose slightly, from 25 to 39 cases, over one week. Influenza A accounted for 95% of the typed results and influenza B for 5%.
Low number of RSV cases
The number of RSV cases reported by laboratories saw a slight increase, with 38 compared to 35 the previous week, while remaining at a low level.
