On Monday 1 December 2025, the Luxembourg Ministry for Digitalisation, Ministry of Health and Social Security, the Government IT Centre and the eSanté Agency announced that citizens can now activate their eSanté account online through MyGuichet.lu.
The ministries said that it was now possible for citizens to have immediate access to their Shared Medical Record (DSP) without waiting for a postal activation code. Users simply need a LuxTrust authentication product and a private space on MyGuichet.lu.
Stéphanie Obertin, Luxembourg Minister for Digitalisation, stated: “Online access to the Shared Medical Record via MyGuichet.lu demonstrates our commitment to simplifying citizens’ lives through the digitalisation of State services. This new functionality enables people to activate and access the DSP from a familiar platform, while ensuring full confidentiality of health data.”
Martine Deprez, Luxembourg Minister of Health and Social Security, added: “This development marks a significant step towards more user-friendly access to the DSP. The DSP is also undergoing functional adaptations that will give it a key role in the implementation of the European Health Data Space, in the interest of patients.”
With this enhancement, MyGuichet.lu further strengthens its position as the State’s single point of contact (SPOC) for electronic communication, digital administrative procedures and online public services.
An eSanté account is automatically created for every person affiliated with the Joint Social Security Centre (CCSS). To access the DSP — a personal, secure electronic health record under the patient’s direct control — this account must first be activated.
Activation can now be completed directly on MyGuichet.lu in the user’s private space under the “My data” section.
Once activated, users can access the DSP through the private space. After logging in with a LuxTrust product, they will be redirected to the DSP via the authentic source “Shared Medical Record”. To ensure accessibility for all, individuals who do not have a LuxTrust device may continue to activate their eSanté account and access their DSP via the eSanté portal (esante.lu) or the MyDSP mobile application.
The ministries noted that the DSP places patients at the centre of the sharing of their health information among healthcare professionals and provides tools that support active involvement in their own care. Patients can:
• consult their health data at any time (e.g. blood test results, imaging reports, MRI scans);
• grant access rights to healthcare professionals within their trusted medical circle or by providing an attendance code available in the DSP;
• grant access rights to emergency services;
• upload their own medical information;
• record their wishes, for example concerning organ donation;
• designate a DSP assistant - a trusted person authorised to manage the DSP jointly with, or on behalf of, the DSP holder. This is useful for those less confident with digital tools or for parents managing their children’s DSPs.
