On Thursday 11 June 2026, Luxembourg’s Roads and Bridges Administration announced that as part of the mitigation measures currently in force in the Grouft Tunnel, works to replace the ventilation fan blades will begin on Thursday 18 June.

In order to minimise the impact on traffic as much as possible, the works will be carried out exclusively during the night.

The administration has reported that night-time closures of the A7 motorway between the Waldhof interchange and the Lorentzweiler interchange, alternating between the directions of Luxembourg City and Mersch, will be necessary until the completion of the works.

The direction of travel affected will depend on the progress of the works. Signposted diversions will be put in place by the administration during the night-time closures to ensure the continuity of traffic flow.

The works are scheduled to be completed by the beginning of the summer school holidays, subject to the smooth progress of the interventions.

Details of the closures, including the direction in which the roadblocks will apply, can be consulted at https://www.cita.lu/fr/chantiers.html.
