Luxembourg’s Roads and Bridges Administration announced on Tuesday 7 July 2026, that as part of the resurfacing works on the A13 motorway, the Altwies and Frisange interchanges will operate with two-way traffic on a single carriageway from 01:00 on Friday 10 July until 05:00 on Monday 13 July.

The administration said that the works will be carried out over the weekend in order to minimise disruption to weekday traffic. In view of the high temperatures forecast for the weekend, the earlier start will also allow the work to be carried out under more suitable conditions and help ensure the safety of the workers on site.

During the works the maximum speed limit between the Altwies and Frisange interchanges will be reduced to 70 km/h and the number of motorway access and exit points will be reduced. Diversions will be in place and clearly signposted.

The following slip roads will be closed:

• the Frisange interchange entry slip road to the A13 towards Bettembourg;

• the Frisange interchange exit slip road for traffic coming from Schengen;

• the Altwies interchange entry slip road to the A13 towards Bettembourg;

• the Altwies interchange exit slip road for traffic coming from Schengen;

Drivers wishing to join the A13 towards Bettembourg from the Frisange interchange will be diverted via the N3, the N13 and the Hellange interchange.

Drivers wishing to join the A13 towards Bettembourg from the Altwies interchange will be diverted via the N16, the N13 and the Hellange interchange.

Traffic travelling on the A13 towards Bettembourg and wishing to reach Frisange or Altwies will be diverted from the Hellange interchange via the N13 and the N3 or the N16 respectively.

The administration highlighted that preparatory work required to implement the temporary traffic management will begin several hours before the main works start. As a result, traffic disruption is expected from late morning onwards on Friday 10 July.
