Luxembourg’s Administration of Bridges and Roads has announced upcoming roadworks at the Livange interchange on the A3 motorway, scheduled to take place from Friday 11 to Monday 14 September 2026.

According to the administration, as part of the ongoing widening of the A3 motorway, a temporary bridge will be installed at the Livange interchange. These works will require the full closure of all entrances and exits at the interchange, as well as the N31 at the level of the interchange ramps, in both directions from around 20:00 on Friday until around 04:00 on Monday. To limit the impact on weekday traffic, the works will take place over the weekend.

The following closures will be in place during this period:

  • all entrances and exits of the Livange interchange in both directions;
  • the N31 between Rue Joseph Lentz and Rue de Turi.

Traffic travelling on the A3 towards Luxembourg and wishing to reach the Livange area will be required to continue towards Luxembourg as far as the Gluck roundabout. The diversion will then continue via the N4A and CR186 to Kockelscheuer.

From Kockelscheuer, traffic heading to the eastern side of the Livange interchange will be diverted via the CR158 and CR159, while traffic heading to the western side towards Bettembourg will continue via the CR186.

Traffic travelling on the A3 towards Metz and wishing to reach the Livange area will be required to continue towards Metz as far as the Bettembourg interchange. The diversion will then continue via the A13 towards Schengen, the Hellange interchange and the N13 to Bettembourg.

From Bettembourg, traffic heading to the eastern side of the Livange interchange will be diverted via the CR132 and CR159, while traffic heading to the western side will continue via the N31.
