Men's CUPRA Padel Team Luxembourg; Credit: FLT

On Tuesday 8 July 2025, the CUPRA Padel Team Luxembourg kicked off its campaign at the FIP Euro Padel Cup, the European Padel Championship, taking place in Madrid, Spain, until Sunday 13 July 2025.

The Grand Duchy’s team, selected by national coach Enric Batalla, is competing at the European Championship with the following players:

Women: Céline François, Claudine Schaul, Laurence Maringer, Natasha Feidt, Jo Weisen, Ari Ceccaroni, Walquiria Bley, Caroline François;
Men: Tom Maquel, Mederic Thill, Elie-Noé Nicolay, Alex Marinov, Clément Pelt, Maxime Moersch, Ahmed Youssef, Frank Eicher.

In the three-day Phase 1, Luxembourg’s women’s team is competing in Group A against Croatia and Ukraine, while the men’s team faces Finland, Romania and Andorra in Group D. In both tournaments, only the group winners will qualify for Phase 2, taking place from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 July 2025.

On the opening day of the FIP Euro Padel Cup, the CUPRA Padel Team Luxembourg suffered defeats in both the men's and women's competitions.

The men's team lost 1:2 against Romania. Tom Maquel and Alex Marinov narrowly lost their match 6:7 (4), 6:7 (1) to Silviu Mircea Popescu and Denis Adrian Mocanu. Clément Pelt and Elie-Noé Nicolay then levelled the tie with a 7:5, 7:6 (9) win against Horia Vladimir Nedelcu and Robert Florin Popescu. However, in the deciding match, Frank Eicher and Maxime Moersch lost 0:6, 1:6 to Armand Baboian and Robert Coman.

In the women’s competition, Luxembourg lost 0:3 to Croatia. Natasha Feidt and Jo Weisen were defeated 0:6, 0:6 by Tea Jezidzic and Tea Lovrekovic. Claudine Schaul and Céline François lost 2:6, 4:6 to Karolina Balog and Lea Jurkovic, while Arianna Ceccaroni and Walquiria Bley fell 2:6, 3:6 to Marina Pavkovic and Katja Hrkac.
