
On Wednesday 9 July 2025, the CUPRA Padel Team Luxembourg lost both their men’s and women’s matches at the FIP Euro Padel Cup, the European Padel Championship, in Madrid, Spain.
In Group D, the Luxembourg men’s team lost 0-3 to Finland. Clément Pelt and Elie-Noé Nicolay were defeated 3-6, 0-6 by Joa Takala and Axel Waris. Tom Maquel and Alex Marinov lost 1-6, 2-6 to Saska Huttunen and Pyry Hyrkkönen, while Ahmed Youssef and Médéric Thill also suffered a 1-6, 2-6 defeat against Janne Wuorinen and Henrik Aarno. The team has now lost its chance to compete for first place in the group, the only position that qualifies for Phase 2. Luxembourg will play their final group match against Andorra on Thursday 10 July 2025.
By the same scoreline, the Luxembourg women’s team also lost their second Group A match on Wednesday, this time against Ukraine. Claudine Schaul and Céline François lost 1-6, 0-6 to Olena Kyrpot and Tetyana Dychka, while Jo Weisen and Natasha Feidt were defeated 2-6, 1-6 by Alina Yeroshenko and Yuliya Lysa. Arianna Ceccaroni and Walquiria Bley won their first set 6-1 but lost the following two 4-6, 2-6 to Yuliia Lyndina and Bozhena Berezhniak. As a result, the FLT women’s team have concluded their campaign at the European Championship.
