On Friday 26 September 2014, Lux Meet & Greet will visit the Luxembourgish National Ham Production Site in Bascharage, and the the Béierhaascht.
First meet Guy, the brewery master of the Béierhaascht, and dive into this fascinating world of beer. Discover the secrets of a small family brewery production and taste different kind of beers.
Afterwards, discover the production site of Luxembourgish Ham. Marco Meyer is well known in Luxembourg, as the company has been producing hams and additional products under “Marque Nationale” since 1918. Come and tour the company that Marco Meyer and his sister Simone take great pride in. They have kept the traditional methods passed down to them and added modern processing methods which allows the company to produce an astounding 800 hams each week. Cornelius Meyer would little have expected this when he opened his first butcher shop in Differange just shy of 100 years ago!
Finaly, taste for yourself the meats produced by Marco Meyer in the Beierhaascht Brasserie Restaurant followed by a typical Luxembourgish Bouneschlupp (bean soup) accompanied by a homemade Mettwurscht (sausage).
The pride of the family owned business spills over to this charming restaurant, hotel and brewery.
Meet at 18:30 at the BEIERHAASCHT Brasserie Restaurant (240 avenue de Luxembourg, L-4940 Bascharage).
Cost: €18 (including both tours, dinner, 1 drink and 1 coffee or tea). Reservations at www.luxmeetgreet.com.
