At its meeting on Friday 28 November 2025, the Cabinet of the Luxembourg Government (Conseil de gouvernement) agreed a number of points, including a spur extension of the tram line and banning lead shot.

The first of these concerns the construction of the tram line extension between Place de l'Étoile and the CHL interchange hub on Route d'Arlon. This new law aims to authorise and finance the extension of the tram line along Route d'Arlon between Place de l'Étoile and the future mobility hub at the Luxembourg Hospital Center (CHL).

The second concerns the approval of the draft Grand-Ducal Regulation which amends the previously-amended Grand-Ducal Regulation of 16 December 2011 concerning the use of hunting weapons and ammunition, the means authorised for hunting, and the use of hunting dogs. The specific issue now is to comply with European Union law banning the use of lead shot in and within 30 metres of marshes, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, rivers and canals.

Further details on these, and other topics addressed at the Cabinet meeting, are expected in the coming days.
