As Christmas draws ever nearer, ceramics manufacturer Villeroy & Boch has unveiled a new range of 'Made in Luxembourg' porcelain pieces.
Every ceramic item has been made entirely by hand through traditional methods and decorated piece by piece. The new items in the collection include refined tableware adapted from historical models and painted in the colour 'Vieux Septfontaines'. Three unique 'Made in Luxembourg' figurines are available in the form of a penguin, a Turk or a small canoeist.
Another gift idea comes in the form of a white tone porcelain sweet jar, manufactured in Luxembourg and decorated with an elegant embossed emblem of the Luxembourg skyline. Another two elegant pieces were created to pay tribute to the Grand Ducal Court and the Grand Duke himself. An artistically-decorated tray is available either with the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy or with the insignia of Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa placed under a crown.
A series of objects comprise the four most emblematic sites and symbols of Luxembourg and the magic of Mullerthal. These were made by the winners of the 'Design Challenge' competition launched by Villeroy & Boch and Luxinnovation last year. 100 copies of these limited edition pieces have been created and can be ordered online at http://www.villeroy-boch-design-challenge.lu/fr/.
All 'Made in Luxembourg' Villeroy & Boch porcelain can be found at the company's outlets at 2, Rue du Fossé, at the La Belle Étoile shopping centre and at the Rollingergrund outlet store, as well as the 'Luxembourg House' shop which recently opened on Rue de l'Eau in the City centre.
