On Monday 2 February 2026, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced the recall of Aptamil Pronutra 1 infant formula powder due to the possible presence of toxins.

The ALVA has advised consumers not to use the product concerned due to the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the micro-organism Bacillus cereus.

The following product has been recalled: 

⁃ Aptamil: “Pronutra 1”, 800 g; use by date: 10 November 2026

According to the ALVA, the product may have been distributed at various points of sale in Luxembourg. 

There is currently an orange awareness level alert in place (i.e. medium risk/danger).

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are strongly advised not to consume it and to return it to the place of purchase.
