The documentary (Greece, 2023, 69 mins, colour), directed by Vassilis Loules, will be shown in the original Greek version with English subtitles. Children aged twelve and above are admitted. The director will attend both screenings and take part in a Q&A session following the film.

Synopsis: When soft drinks inspire a unique universe of creativity and humanity. Since 1926, family and friendship, playgrounds and neighbourhood, innovation and solidarity have been the “secret blend” behind the luminous journey of the Kliafa Soft Drinks Company. Founded in Trikala, Greece, around one man’s vision “to cool and sweeten the world,” this small universe of creativity and humanity has become part of local history.

The film traces the company’s nearly 100-year history through rare documents, photographs, recordings and archival footage, alongside testimonies from former workers and contemporary views of the factory’s buildings and machinery. It highlights the ethos and entrepreneurship of an era while shedding light on the daily lives of those who shaped its story.

Vassilis Loules is a Greek film director and screenwriter of both documentaries and fiction films. Based in Athens, his award-winning works have been broadcast in Greece and abroad and are used as educational material at universities. His films explore themes of history, social anthropology, ethnography and industrial archaeology through personal narratives.

Tickets cost €6 for club members and €12 for non-members and can be purchased online via Luxembourg Ticket or at the cinema (cash only) 30 minutes before the screening.
