Study Ranks Luxembourg City as ‘Top Business Travel Destination’

UK-based fintech company Capital on Tap has announced that Luxembourg City ranked highest in its analysis of the best international cities for business travel for people travelling from the UK.

In a study published on 4 August 2025, the capital of the Grand Duchy ranked higher than Paris, Milan, San Francisco and Bangkok for “striking the perfect balance between productivity, convenience and enjoyment”. In Europe, the top three cities were Luxembourg, followed by Amsterdam and Prague.

According to Capital on Tap, the main criteria for the study were: 

⁃ free Wi-Fi points: 763 (Amsterdam: 4,927 / Prague: 9,044)

⁃ average cost of a three-course meal for two: £74.00 (Amsterdam: £81.00 / Prague: £34.00)

⁃ average cost of a bottle of wine: £9.00 (Amsterdam: £5.00 / Prague: £5.00)

⁃ number of hotels: 46 (Amsterdam: 238 / Prague: 281)

⁃ number of landmarks and points of interest: 53 (Amsterdam: 295 / Prague: 220)

⁃ average flight duration from London: 1 h 15 min (Amsterdam: 1 h 15 min / Prague: 2 h)

To ensure consistency comparative pricing between countries was calculated using £/GBP.

Capital on Tap described Luxembourg City as “ideal for same-day travel” and noted “the city thrives on cross-border collaboration”.

They added: “Luxembourg City ranks as the top business travel destination internationally.
