Bulgaria has defeated Luxembourg 5-0 in the week-end's Davis Cup tennis Group II Europe / Africa group tie which was played at the Howald Tennis Club in the suburbs of Luxembourg city.
Following Friday's singles in which Luxembourg's Ugo Nastasi and Gilles Kremer both lost their singles matches, the doubles was played on Saturday afternoon. Mike Scheidweiler and Gilles Kremer lost to Grigor DIMITROV and Dimitar KUTROVSKY, 3-6, 4-6, 4-6, to take an unassailable 3-0 lead.
In Sunday's singles, both restricted to the best of three sets, Ugo Nastasi lost 6-4, 6-2 against Dimitar KUTROVSKY, and Alex Knaff lost to Tihomir GROZDANOV, 3-6, 7-5, 4-6, being the sole Luxembourger to take a set against the visitors.
