On Tuesday 17 June 2025, the SEAT Luxembourg Billie Jean King Cup team secured their second win in Europe Group III competition, taking place in Chisinau, Moldova.

Following a 3-0 victory over Iceland on Monday 16 June 2025, Luxembourg secured another 3-0 win, this time against Montenegro. 

In the opening singles match, 23-year-old Lucie Rabiot defeated Petra Mirkovic 6-1, 6-3 in just 55 minutes. Rabiot committed no double faults, converted five of seven break points, and won 57 points compared to her opponent’s 30, delivering a composed and dominant performance.

In the second singles match, Eleonora Molinaro overcame Tea Nikcevic 6-4, 6-4 in a more competitive encounter lasting one hour and 33 minutes. Molinaro served three aces and maintained a strong first serve percentage of 74.2%. She converted three of seven break points and won 73 points overall, compared to Nikcevic’s 64. Despite her opponent hitting five aces, Molinaro capitalised on her consistency and superior serve stats to secure the win.

The tie against Montenegro concluded with the doubles match, which lasted under 30 minutes. Onalee Wagner, who made her Billie Jean King Cup debut alongside Laura Palumbo, helped Luxembourg take a 5-0 lead in the opening set before their opponents, Petra Mirkovic and Tea Nikcevic retired from the match due to injury.

The third match on hard courts at the Chisinau Arena Tennis Club will see the FLT women’s team face Finland for first place in Group A. Both teams head into the tie with identical records, having each secured 3-0 victories over Iceland and Montenegro. The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 18 June 2025 at 10:30 Luxembourg time.
